Baroque Bungalow on raised footings (early 1900s)
House No. 9 of Buckley road is a gazetted preservation bungalow as it is one of few Singapore's remaining houses built on raised footings. The symmetrical bungalow has a giant tall porch that to welcomes its guests. Completed in the early 1900-s, it was designed as a mixture of Baroque and Classical styles, which were popular before the Art Deco and Modern designs of the 1930s and later. It was given the URA conservation status in 2008.
