Labour Day Visit to NSC Workers

It's May Day, or Labour Day. A day for us to recognise and thank our workers.

We do that regularly here in MoCa, with Our Migrant Guests (OMG) initiative. To identify, recognise and thank the many workers who build our roads, hospitals, schools, flats. This afternoon, our Goldhill NC residents visited the workers building our North South Corridor along Whitley Rd to hand goodie bags and refreshments, and to spend time getting to know them.

We know that the work has caused inconvenience to residents, and we work closely with Land Transport Authority colleagues to minimise the disruptions. At the same time, the workers are working hard to complete the project on time.

I encouraged them to put their own safety above all else. They should complete their work promptly but not at the expense of their safety. And I assured them that I will work with residents to seek their support and understanding.
