Black & White Bungalows
Malcolm Road Colonial Bungalows count as some of the more elegant ones. They were built around 1925 to house the growing British civil servant population as the need for the colonial civil administration increased substantially shortly after the 1st World War. Malcolm Road Colonial Bungalows were built around a hill slope on higher ground; and the Malcolm Road connecting the houses are lined with lush vegetation and are well shaded. As the long road lead away from the main traffic, the estate is peaceful and serene with very little road traffic. 30 black & white bungalows along Malcolm Road built in the 1920s by Public Works Department (PWD) for high-ranking civil servants of the colonial government. Today the bungalows are managed by Singapore Land Authority (SLA)
